Week Six

Kindergarten classes in art will be finishing coloring the " How Many Shapes Are In Your Jar?" project. I will be assigning the students their permnament table assignment this week. Also, the students will finish drawing and coloring the first few warm-up drawings. Next week, I will start a new project for them create, look for your child's excitement.

First graders are still coloring their "Color Study" picture inspired by Kandinsky. The warm and cool color groups will be introduced for painting the remaining white areas of the picture.

Second graders are finishing the marker designs on their paper windsock Japanese fish.  In October, the Japanese Gardens in Fort Worth will be having their annual Japanese Garden Festival. Your second grader would throughly enjoy seeing this venue.

Third graders will be learning about Grant Wood, an American Artist, and about his landscapes. The students will begin creating their a Patriotic Landscape for the Veteran's Day Program.

Fourth graders will be adding the finishing painting touch to their pastel landscapes. Extension project will be creating a patterned landscape which were inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings.

Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth is a great venue for Georgia O’Keeffe’s works of art.
