The students are still working on the same projects for these two weeks.
Kindergarten: Created a snail drawing using their hand shape for the snails’ shell. The coloring technique stressed for this project will be, layering colors. All the objects will be colored with crayon, followed with painting the sky and ground. During class time, students will be gluing tissue to a pumpkin shape for the next project.
First Grade: Continuing with the Stars and Stripes project which involves tracing star shapes and adding stripes to the picture. The students use red and blue crayons and white paint for the picture. Later the student will select a stare to be outlined in glitter.
Second Grade: Working on another Japanese Themed picture called, The Great Wave. The Japanese artist, Hokusai, is the inspiration for the project. The students are creating a huge expressive wave with boats, surfers, or animals in the mist of the wave. The landform Mount Fuji is in the background like Hokusai’s work.
Third Grade: Will be finishing the RED, WHITE, AND BLUE LANDSCAPE for the third grade musical program. The students review over facts about Grant Wood and the pencil techniques for the project. Look for the finished product
Fourth Grade: Created foil figures called an Armature one week and the next week the students experienced Paper Mache by applying it onto the foil armatures. The next step will be adding the tissue glaze coloring to the figure.
